Next June 146 squads will join the International Festival (U9 and U11) and the International Festival PLUS (U13) representing 15 nations and 5 continents
There's nothing like HaBaWaBa. Seventeen years after its first edition, the motto of “the game of the ball in the water” has more value than ever: HaBaWaBa is not just a festival, nor just a sports competition. It’s a unique event not only in the waterpolo’s landscape, but the youth sports’ worldwide: also in 2025 more than a thousand little athletes from all over the world will gather at Bella Italia & EFA Village in Lignano Sabbiadoro, Italy, in order to live an unforgettable experience. At HaBaWaBa waterpolo becomes the tool to get to know new cultures, make friends, have fun, and live the noble values of sport.
Thanks to the support of our institutional partners FIN, World Aquatics, European Aquatics and CONI, and the help of our sponsors Turbo, Compact Goals, Ossidabile and All Risks - Consulenze Assicurative, next June HaBaWaBa will once again bring together little waterpolo players from faraway countries, creating a multicultural environment at the Village that you can only experience at the Olympics: a total of 146 teams are registered for HaBaWaBa International Festival (reserved for mixed teams belonging to U9 and U11 age group categories) and HaBaWaBa International Festival PLUS (for mixed and girls-only U13 teams). Participating teams will come from all 5 continents and represent as many as 15 different nations: Australia, Croatia, Egypt, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Montenegro, Palestine, Monaco, Singapore, Slovakia, Switzerland, Turkey and US.
Going into more details, the 17th HaBaWaBa International Festival, scheduled for June 15-22, will feature 77 teams, including 60 in the U11 category and 17 in the U9 category. For the first time, non-Italian teams will be the majority (54%).
On the other hand, 69 teams are registered for the 9th edition of the HaBaWaBa International Festival PLUS, to be held on June 22-29. Waterpolo Development is proud to point out that the number of participating teams in the U13 girls’ competition has more than doubled since the last edition, going from 5 to 12.
Below you can find the full list of teams registered for the HaBaWaBa International Festival and the HaBaWaBa International Festival PLUS 2025, more details - starting with the rounds of the 1st phase of the competitions - will soon be available on WPDWorld.com and HaBaWaBa.com, as well as on the official HaBaWaBa app, which will also soon be updated with the names and photos of all the little waterpolo players: the app is free to download from Google Play and Apple Store.
Less than two months to go: HaBaWaBa is coming back!
