The new WPD project aims to create an exchange between coaches in order to build a wealth of knowledge that can be made available to everyone
HABAWABA SCHOOL IS BORN. This idea gave rise to HaBaWaBa School, a new Waterpolo Development program co-funded by EU* and included in the CR Kids - Erasmus+ Sport Project, which all coaches of HaBaWaBa categories (i.e., training athletes aged 7 to 13) are invited to participate in.
Erasmus+ Sport is an EU-funded initiative that supports cooperation, innovation, and development in the field of sport. CR Kids Project aims to support coaches and develop youth training resources through digital tools, knowledge exchange, and community collaboration.
The HaBaWaBa School project also benefits from the collaboration of Anemos Nautical and Cultural Club, Technical University of Crete, and Club Aquatico Pescara.
HaBaWaBa School offers a series of free online webinars in which coaches with expertise in the development of little waterpolo players will interact with club coaches belonging to the international HaBaWaBa community. Each webinar will feature a list of videos showing drills designed to improve a specific technical waterpolo skill, followed by a discussion.
KNOWLEDGE EXCHANGE. Please note: these are not simply theoretical lessons, and knowledge will not be transferred “from the top down”, from WPD experts to coaches. Coaches attending the webinar will also be able to present their videos and discuss them with speakers and colleagues. The goal of HaBaWaBa School is to create a connection, an exchange channel, between experts and coaches in the field: our aim is to produce a flow of information that may have a real, practical impact on the daily work of HaBaWaBa coaches.
FREE FOR ALL. The material presented and “improved” through the webinars will then be collected online on a brand new platform and made available free of charge on the web: the final result of HaBaWaBa School, therefore, is to create a database - video and otherwise - with hundreds of drills for fundamental skills developing, which will be available free of charge to coaches around the world.
HABAWABA NEEDS YOU. The HaBaWaBa School project has just started, in the coming weeks Waterpolo Development will offer further details on the initiative and how to participate. However, we kindly ask HaBaWaBa coaches to be ready and to participate with enthusiasm: only your collaboration can make this initiative a success and change the face of waterpolo globally, creating a tool that can be used to support its development anywhere around the world.
