HaBaWaBaInternationalFestival&HaBaWaBaPLUS2022:REGISTRATIONOPEN!
Lignano Sabbiadoro will host the HaBaWaBa summer: the event for U10 & U12 players will be on June 19-26, the U14 competition is scheduled for June 26-July 3
Registration for the great HaBaWaBa summer of 2022 opens today. The upcoming year will see the HaBaWaBa International Festival and HaBaWaBa PLUS return to their traditional format, with an entire week dedicated to each single event. The venue for both of them will be once again Bella Italia & EFA Village in Lignano Sabbiadoro (Italy).
The 14th edition of HaBaWaBa International Festival - the biggest youth waterpolo event in the world - is scheduled from June 19th to 26th, 2022. It will have two tournaments, both open to boys’, girls’ or mixed teams: one competition will be dedicated to U10 players (born in 2012 and younger) and the other one to U12 players (born in 2010 and younger).
The Festival will be followed by the 6th edition of HaBaWaBa PLUS, scheduled from June 26th to July 3rd: in this event boys and girls will be divided into two separate tournaments, both dedicated to U14 category (born in 2008 and younger).
"Going along with the requests of many clubs, we have chosen to confirm also in 2022 the U10, U12 and U14 categories that we used for the first time in 2021 - President of Waterpolo Development Bruno Cufino explains-. However in 2023 the two main HaBaWaBa events will return to be dedicated to the age groups which they were designed for: U9, U11 and U13. The edition held in last September was important because it reminded all of us - organizers, kids, coaches, parents - of values and beauty of HaBaWaBa, an event that unites the waterpolo community and represents the most effective way to promote our sport among the younger generations. In 2022, we are aiming for an even bigger HaBaWaBa International Festival and HaBaWaBa PLUS, with a number of attendees nearing that of last extraordinary pre-pandemic editions”.
