The story of the Ghanaian waterpolo players who were denied visas to Italy has affected the HaBaWaBa community
The Embassy of Italy in Ghana prevented the Black Star Polo kids from taking part in the HaBaWaBa International Festival, denying their visas to fly to Italy. However the story of the young Ghanaian waterpolo players has left its mark on the event which took place at Bella Italia & EFA Village from June 18th to 25th.
Their coach Asante Sefa-Boakye, who is a US citizen, was able to travel to Lignano Sabbiadoro and feel the solidarity towards his players coming from the other teams present at the world's most important kids waterpolo event. The absence of Black Star Polo at HaBaWaBa International Festival was perceived as an injustice by the entire HaBaWaBa community.
And this video, shot by Dimitris Papas, is a message that the HaBaWaBa teams in Lignano wanted to send to Black Star Polo kids: we look forward to seeing you in 2024!
The soundtrack of the video is the "Let's go to play waterpolo" song that Black Star Polo composed and usually sing during their training.
