Each team can register 6 players born in 2013 in U11 category and 6 players born in 2015 in U9, but only 3 of them can be in the roster for a game
Important news for the HaBaWaBa International Festival, the event reserved for U11 and U9 age group categories scheduled at the Bella Italia & EFA Village in Lignano Sabbiadoro (Italy) from June 15th to 22nd.
For the first time, the 2025 edition gives clubs the chance to register over-age players (born in 2013 for the U11 category and born in 2015 for U9). Following the numerous requests received from the clubs, Waterpolo Development has decided to increase the number of over-age players from 3 to 6 for each category: however, ONLY 3 OVER-AGE PLAYERS will be able to be in the game list for a single game (and therefore to play it), with the others required to sit fully dressed on the bench.

NEW RULES ABOUT OVER-AGE PLAYERS IN U11 & U9 CATEGORIES
U11 Category (2014 and following): in the U11 category, 6 (six) over-age players born in 2013 are admitted. Under 09 Category (2016 and following): in the Under 09 category, 6 (six) over-age players born in 2015 are admitted. Therefore, for each team it will be possible to insert six (6) over-age players in the list of participants in the events, but during each match it will be possible to play only for 3 (three) of them. Their use will be regulated as follows:- Upon arrival at the welcome area (and only in that circumstance) the accompanying persons must indicate from their list of participants who their over-age players are and present a photocopy of their personal documents.
- Before each match, the coaches will communicate to the juries which three over-age players they intend to field in that specific match.
- The jury table will cross off any other overage players from the list.
- The overage swimmers who are not involved must be present on the pool deck during each match dressed, without being able to wear costumes, caps or bathrobes.
- The referee will decide where these athletes must sit, whether behind the bench or next to the jury table. In any case, they cannot leave until the end of the match.
