The 7th HabaWaba International Festival to be held from the 22nd to 29th June 2014 .This event, the only one aimed at boys and girls aged 7 to 11, has received the award “Supported by” FINA, LEN, COMEN and FIN. As always, the event will be organized byWPD (Waterpolo Development), the non-profit Association whose objective is the promotion of Water Polo.
The past years have seen a gradual and substantial growth in the number of participants and spectators. The numbers in 2013 are impressive: 1,209 athletes, 108 teams, 230 team officials, more than 700 family members and friends and 526 games played, highlighting that the Festival has become a truly international event for young waterpolo players from all over the world.
The 2014 HabaWaba International Festival will also be hosted in the village GeTur www.getur.com (Lignano Sabbiadoro, Udine – Italy) and will take place over seven days including six days of competition with the exclusive use of the five pools at the resort. To ensure that as many participants as possible attend and to stage the greatest number of matches, the event makes the use of 2 outdoor pools and 2 indoor pools, 1 of which are 50-meter Olympic pools, with a total spectator capacity of more than 1,500.
Since 2008, the HabaWaba International Festival has been the main event for the promotion of Water Polo where young athletes from all 5 continents have enjoyed themselves in a competition held in compliance with the rules and values of sport for a period of seven days. Even families can participate in this great celebration and become an active part of the event. The Club team’s registration will be opened on Monday the 11th November 2013, will be limited in number and will close no later than Friday 31st January 2014. Also this year the WPD will have the pleasure of hosting a free official and a coach for each team. In order to facilitate the registrations process an online system is going to be available.
