Dear friends of HaBaWaBa,
with a heavy heart Waterpolo Development is forced to announce the cancellation of HaBaWaBa Academy, scheduled at Bella Italia & EFA Village in Lignano Sabbiadoro (Italy) from 30th August to 13th September.
WPD Board has taken that decision despite the several clubs and individual little players joining the event and despite the strong protection measures adopted by Bella Italia & EFA Village: our choice was made beyond the authorizations by Italian authorities, due to safety reasons related to the increase of new Covid-19 outbreaks and the risks related to them.
We apologize to all those who hoped to participate in the new initiative of our association, immediately registering to the event, since the outbreak of the coronavirus epidemic we as Waterpolo Development have done everything we can in order to give continuity to our work and to offer the HaBaWaBa movement at least one great international event in 2020.
Reasons of force majeure has prevented us from doing so, however we still hope to be able to have an HaBaWaBa event by the end of the year.
Statement of Bruno Cufino, President of Waterpolo Development:
“Cancelling the HaBaWaBa Academy was a painful decision for us, it has matured after a long consultation of our Board. In the end, the sense of responsibility related to health security prevailed over the great desire to restart the activities linked to HaBaWaBa principles.
Being aware that the principles which HaBaWaBa promoted in recent years are of great value for waterpolo and sport, Waterpolo Development is already working to offer the HaBaWaBa movement some events to take place even before HaBaWaBa International Festival and HaBaWaBa Plus U13, which are already planned for June 2021″.
